I've lived in many places around the U.S. -- Childhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma (1973 Graduate of Nathan Hale HS) Then, I attended the University of Oklahoma for a year and a half. I then moved to Southern California in the early 1970s where I went to a two-year professional acting program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts/West. After some time in the L.A. theatre/film/music scene I moved to San Diego, then Big Sur, then to Boulder, Colorado. I worked odd jobs and became a vegetarian at that time. By 1979 I had decided to go back to finish my Undergraduate work in environmental studies. The best program, at that time, was in the Geography Department at the U. of OK...so I finished there. During that time I had a son with my first husband. I went immediately from there to a Master's program at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. I was awarded a Fellowship from the Institute for Resource Management, a program funded by Robert Redford at WSU and the U. of Idaho.
